Shalom ya’ll! We’re Bagels & Biscuits, and we came together 5 years ago to bring a twist to our standard worship services, and to introduce the Tallahassee community to Jewish music. Our music is for all ages and incorporates traditional liturgy, Jewish ethics, history, and lessons in Torah. 5 years later, we’re not only playing services and concerts at Temple Israel, we’re playing Jewish music all over Tallahassee! From the Tallahassee Jewish Food & Cultural Festival to Tallahassee Music Week, Bagels & Biscuits is there making music and working towards interfaith relations.
The highlight for us, of course, was our performance at the 2015 URJ Biennial in Orlando, Florida. We were so honored to perform among great Jewish musicians who have influenced us, like Saul Kaye, Dan Nichols, Galeet Dardashti and Noam Katz.
Our Tallahassee fans have been asking us to record our original music, so we’re going to do it! We need your help though. Recording an album takes a lot of work. The songs are written, but the recording studio and mixing and printing of cd’s all takes time and money. We are very fortunate to be working with the best sound engineer in the panhandle area, Fred Chester, and the funds will go to cover all the costs involved with producing and putting out the cd. Any additional funds will go directly to the Capelouto Music fund at Temple Israel so that the Temple can continue to bring you the best in service music and Jewish performers to enrich your worship and overall Temple community experience. We can’t do this without you!
So if you tap your toe to our Tzur Mishelo, dance around to our Im tirzu, giggle with your kids to our creation song, Koogle Earth, or bring in Shabbat with our L’cha Dodi, then please contribute to our campaign so that we can share your favorite Jewish music with the rest of the world!
Thank you for your support!
!תודה רבה/Todah Rabbah!
