Why Help the People of Turkana, Kenya?
Over 24,000 Kenyans are facing a life-threatening crisis. Extreme weather conditions and poor rainfall, which plagued Kenya for years, have led to a nationwide drought, putting their lives in danger.
For them, every day is a nightmare of water shortages, hunger, and food insecurity, where the only escape from deteriorating health and malnutrition they can see is death.
But CADENA International wants to change all that, and WITH YOUR HELP it could be possible.
CADENA: Tikkun Olam in Action
CADENA International is an international non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid in emergencies and natural disasters around the world in the spirit of ‘Tikkun Olam’ – repairing the world.
Over the past 10 years, CADENA volunteers have been in the forefront of disaster relief, and are recognized for their organizing and helping people in more than 160 humanitarian missions on behalf of Israel and Jewish communities world-over.
By helping the people of Turkana, Kenya obtain the bare necessities – water, food and shelter – we can improve their condition until they can get back up on their feet and demonstrate the value of ‘Tikkun Olam” through action, not just words.
But to accomplish this, we need your help.
How will the funds be used?
With the money collected from this campaign, CADENA will bring food and water for the people affected by the drought, and work to develop solutions that will lessen the effects of this drought today, and create a more sustainable infrastructure to help prevent droughts in the future.
CADENA volunteers will deliver clean water and set up food pantries for families in need to help sustain them until the situation is more stable.
