Gittel B. is a girl from a Jewish home in Jerusalem.

Her mother was emotionally ill and Gittel was picked up as a young child and taken to a hostel.

At age 12 she ran away and lived on the street until she was found and taken to the next hostel (… and then to the next hostel & the next one – all in all six hostels!!).

She was married off at 16 and moved to England with her husband. They divorced a while later.

At 22 years old, Gittel’s life is in tatters and she needs physical, psychological and emotional help.

In her pain she said that she no longer wanted to live, and was promptly taken to the Mental Health Hospital.

It was at this stage that Gittel came to the attention of a member of the Jewish community who alerted Dayan Westheim  z”l.

Dayan Westheim Z”l and  Rabbi Horowitz one of Manchester’s prominent Rabbi’s spent many hours to help start an appeal in order to get Gittel accepted into “Ohr LaNefesh”  in Israel who have set up a program that is tailor made to her needs.

Recently Dayan Westheim passed away from Corona virus,  let’s work together to fulfill his last wishes.
