Dear Fellow IDC Parent,
Like you, I am a parent of a child that studies or studied at the Raphael Recanati International School at IDC Herzliya. I am also on the board of directors of the American Friends of IDC.
American Friends of IDC has launched a parent campaign with a modest goal of raising enough money to provide three full scholarships for needy students at IDC. As a parent, I am spearheading this campaign and I hope you will join me in this cause.
Over the years, I have come to marvel at the accomplishments of the leadership of IDC. In only 25 years, starting with nothing but a dilapidated old army base, Professor Reichman, Jonathan Davis and a team of others have built a unique educational institution, now on its way to being honored with the designation as the first private university in Israel — all at “Israeli startup speed”.
At the same time, the IDC leadership has also built a school with a DNA for real caring, with a level of attention and service that is the polar opposite of the experiences many of us have encountered with larger US universities. IDC is truly a family, in that Israeli kind of way, imbued with the values of Zionism and responsibility.
In order to maintain and improve upon IDC’s position and our children’s experience, costs increase each year. One in six students at IDC studies on scholarship at IDC; this is a source of pride for the leadership who aim to ensure that every eligible student has the opportunity to study in a world-class environment.
Therefore, I would like to ask you to join me in our parent campaign to show support to our children, IDC and the State of Israel.
I hope you will participate in this important initiative.
Sincerely,
Robert Blum
