Kavod is a lay-led minyan that comes together once a month for Saturday Shabbat services. We create a community with an inclusive and warm atmosphere in the Brooklyn neighborhoods around Crown Heights, Prospect Heights and Park Slope. Kavod’s doors are open to those from all walks of life, backgrounds, religious affiliations and levels of knowledge. Following the framework of a partnership minyan, Kavod is committed to offering anyone with interest the opportunity to lead services or read Torah. We welcome everyone from the community to join us regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or experience.
We are building community from the ground up, and therefore, need all the help we can get. These are the costs involved each time Kavod meets:
-Renting out a space, currently graciously hosted at Repair the World, 808 Nostrand Avenue.
-Supplying Siddurim (prayer books), Chumashim (Torah portion books) and other religious ritual items such as Talitot (prayer shawls).
-Renting a Torah
-Hosting a lovely Kiddush and creating a space to socialize, connect and build community.
Our goal is to provide these things every month. We are passionate about our mission and know that as a community, we gain a lot by having Kavod in our lives. Help make Kavod a continued reality and let’s build this community together.
