WHAT IS MITZVAH POWER ACADEMY?
Mitzvah Power Academy is an innovative multi-media educational enterprise that fosters a deep connection to Jewish values and traditions in young Jewish children and their families. It is designed for ages 4 to 7 and teaches above all, how to be a “mench”. It is Jewish “edu-tainment” at its best .
WHAT IS MITZVAH POWER ACADEMY STORYLINE?
Mitzvah Power Academy transports children to a magical world located on Jewpiter, where a group of young superheroes in training, called Haverim Heroes, is guided by Rabbi Leah. They go on a series of “Mench-Ventures” which take them through time and space to do their “mitzvot”. Future books and programs will include Mench-Ventures that integrate Shabbat and holidays, visits with famous Jewish figures from past and present and other teachings of importance to this young age group. Speciality or seasonal materials will also be created.
WHAT ARE THE KEY PARTS OF MITZVAH POWER ACADEMY?
BOOK: A 95-page, stunningly presented book with rhymed text has been created. The current illustrations were generated through AI. We intend to hire a professional illustrator once we have funding. A full mockup of the book is available upon request. There is also a Game Gallery, Mitzvah Tracker, Membership Certificate, Coloring Fun and more.
WEBSITE AND/OR APP: Building upon the book’s foundation, an interactive kids website and/or app with games, kids club offerings and a parent/teacher guide will be created.
KIDS CLUB: A kids club will be established with games, contests and self-directed and family “mench-tivities. ” Kids will be encouraged to do mitzvot at home, school and their community. They can download supportive, fun activity sheets, play games and watch the animated video series to reinforce Mitzvah Power Academy concepts.
ANIMATED TV SERIES: The Mitzvah Power Academy TV series will air on YouTube Kids and be streamed on www.mitzvahpower.com and/or the app. The engaging programs will offer short format “Mench-Ventures” from the book and later, expand upon those even further with the goal of developing a library of engaging programs.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND CREATOR
Mitzvah Power Academy is written and created by Linda Bernstein. Linda is many things: Rabbi, Cantor, Doctor of Pharmacy, Clinical Professor and award-winning producer, writer and host of educational media for professionals, consumers and children. She has hundreds of publications, broadcasts and programs to her credit. She has done major children’s health and safety educational programs and campaigns for American Heart Association, American Automobile Association, University of California, PBS and Safeway Food and Drug. She is also mother of two wonderful children and grandmother (Ami) to 7 fantastic grandchildren.
