Maynooth University Israel Society was set up with two goal in mind. To spread a positive message about Israel in Irish Universities and too spread the truth about Israel.

While only 1 year old, MU Israel Society has made a sizeable impact in Maynooth following several successful events designed to provide a safe and fun environment for students to learn and ask questions never before asked on Irish campuses.

The founding members are nor Jewish or Israeli. We are simply Irish students who feel it is our purpose as students who care about the truth to spread the message of the people of Israel.

As representatives of the Israel Society at Maynooth University we pride ourselves in teaching our fellow students and our audience around the world the untold truth about the State of Israel. We do so by providing our viewers with the wonderful stories and events that take place in Israel that may not have gotten coverage on a social media platform. We share these stories through different means, such as sharing links, photos and videos on our Facebook & Twitter accounts. We hope our viewers find what we share intriguing and for them to be able to learn about a side of Israel not always shown. Another platform we advocate from is setting up booths and interactive expositions at Maynooth University in order to share with fellow students a taste of what Israel has to offer.

What would your donations lead towards? Providing the ability to hold events in the University, such as

– Speakers, leaders of pro- Israel organisations, people of influence to speak to students about the land of Israel

-Bands, musicians and artists to come from Israel to play music and bring a part of the Middle East to Ireland through music

-Running events such as movie nights, photo exhibitions or food tasting events

All of these events cost money. Guest speakers can cost up to $1000 or more. Most of the money will go towards bringing over Israelis to Ireland with the rest of the money going towards promotion and equipment for events.

We at the Israel Society want to expand our reach and give our audience a more memorable encounter with the State of Israel. This would be done by flying Israeli speakers to our university and letting them talk with students through debates, lectures and speeches. We also aim to extend our reach to other potential universities, and show them why having an Israel society on campus is a good investment. We have hosted a number of events in the past year with some news outlets picking up on our story. Including “The Times of Israel” and the “Algemeiner”. We hope to expand our reach further with every passing year, and continue to teach students about the side of Israel that deserves to be heard.
