We’ve had such great success and rapid growth that we’re now having scaling issues.
More than 70K users in the first week in iOS and Android!
Everything up until now has been done on a volunteer basis but in order to scale our infrastructure and provide this application to more people we really need some help with this venture, from you, our backers, to improve the service and it’s stability so more people can enjoy it.
On iOS alone we’ve gone from 0 to 21K in less than two days! We’re now at 70K+ active users and it’s still growing!
We’re scrabbling around the clock to solve both server issues, building more features and interacting with users (which are providing some great feedback!)
The Impact
This app helps save jewish lives. Jewish people that are under constant bombardment can now be altered in a more technologically advanced way; a way that better suites how people use technology today.
What Will You Do with the Money?
As we said the in campaign description, the sudden growth has left our infrastructure overwhelmed. So we’re going to use the money to upgrade our infrastructure to using Amazon Web Service and build a more robust mechanism that can handle all current users (and further growth). This includes (geek terminology ahead), load balancers, stronger servers, push notification infrastructure (using Amazon SNS) and better monitoring for all this stuff.
Further more, this rapid growth we’ve seen is only from spreading the app to our closest friends – without any marketing. Once we’ve resolved the scaling issues and verified we can handle more growth we’d like to start marketing the app on Facebook, Google Ads and other Israeli sites) in order to spread the word and get the app into more hands, potentially saving more lives.
