Hi Friends,
Thank you for being here, for supporting this project and for your commitment to creating music that can heal and inspire.
We Will Overcome is a 5-song EP of contemporary Jewish music tracking the struggles we face personally, communally and globally. These five songs, based in Jewish text and liturgy, explore how we can utilize music and prayer to overcome. Upon the EP’s completion, all proceeds will be donated to three change based organizations. The music you will hear was written both in the states and during my time in Australia (cute wallaby pic below!), where I developed and experienced the importance of being a global citizen.
While in Australia, I felt a deep responsibility to understand what was happening in the world and how I could personally influence positive change. The songs on this EP reflect those experiences. I hope they will offer you and your communities further opportunities to sing modern Jewish music that brings to light our responsibility to not stand idly by.
The EP will be recorded, mixed and mastered at Blue Dream Studios with the help of some of LA’s premiere musicians. The EP will be produced by my talented friend and fellow Jewish musician Josh Goldberg (pictured below).
With your support, we (yes we!) will record this music, create a music video for the single ‘Closer (I’ll Be)’, and will organize gatherings all in the name of creating change. Your donations will also support the production of the CDs, behind the scenes footage and interviews, the album artwork and more.
Please find the contribution level on the right that inspires you most. If you are unable to meet the contribution level of your choice, I encourage you to contact your friends and family and consider donating together. No donation is too small. Whatever you are able to contribute will bring us closer to achieving our goal.
It has been my lifelong dream to create and record Jewish music that connects us to our deepest spiritual identity. Thank you for helping me to make this dream a reality.
Together, we can and will inspire hope, love and communal action through music.
With love and gratitude,
Charlie
